Live illustration events

One aspect I really love about my job is getting to live illustrate at events. Wheather it’s an store event or a private event, I always have so much fun creating portraits and fashion illustrations for people on the spot!

At my most recent event, which was for eyewear brand Walter and Herbert, during the Seven Dials festival, Covent Garden, I got to focus on creating portraits, this really allowed me to capture the finer details of someone’s features, in the short space of time I had to create the illustration. The illustrations where all scanned and hung up behind me as I worked.

This summer I had the privilege of travelling to Nice, France for a private event. It was situated in the most beautiful pink villa, right on top of a hill with the most gorgeous views and gardens. I was working outside (which was hot!) so it was a wonderful change to my usual locations.

Another event earlier this year lead me to Frenchgate shopping centre in Doncaster. I was part of their “Paper Dolls” add campaign and competition. I created illustrations for an online game and they were also used in the displays in the centre. (I’ll be creating a separate post on that!). I spent the day there, illustrating all of the visitors, most of which were young kids, so it was great fun chatting to them and a little different form my usual drawing model!

I’ve included some of my favourite pictures form some of the events I’ve attended over the last year.
